Enhance Learning With a Computer Projector, and Document  Camera

Introduction

 

This half day, hands-on course allows learners to explore the use of projectors and document cameras in the classroom to enhance student learning. Participants will receive hands-on training on how to set up these tools and use them effectively. Many ideas and examples will be shared for classroom use. 

 


Activity I Introduction to Class

Presenter uses document camera during introduction.

Activity 2 Demos/Discussion

Demo on how a teacher can use a document camera and a projector in all subjects.

Discussion on student use.

Discussion on campus staff use.

Activity 3 Intro to equipment and features

Projector: lens, adjust buttons, cables, functions and operations

Document Camera: lens, lamp, neck, zoom, functions and operations

Activity 4 Equipment set up demo

Presenter sets up a document camera and projector using a document camera to show the class.

Activity 5 Introduction to the Austinit Wiki and assignment

Presenter uses the projector to introduce Austinit Wiki and to show participants how to complete their end of class assignment.

Activity 6 Equipment set up in teams

Teams set up equipment at their station and present one or two new ideas to the group using the equipment that was set up.

Activity 7 Publish plans for the upcoming school year on Austinit Wiki

Participants record their plans for the upcoming year on the Austinit Wiki.
